About this matchbox
The Wamba Senado restaurant likely takes its name from Wamba, the Visigoth king of Hispania (672-680 AD). Although I haven't found any restaurant with that exact name, I did find a related restaurant called Senado. Thanks to another matchbox showing the same address and the words Wamba and Senado, I deduce that it is the same venue.
This venue must have been quite large, it was located in a former 19th-century palace. I found some postcards with several rooms. Below, I leave you photos of these postcards. After this venue, the Café de Chinitas opened in 1970, so I dare say the matchbox must be from before that date.
