Pleasure Island was the adult nightlife district within Disney World, featuring clubs, bars, and concerts, one of Disney's most atypical ideas. It was open from 1989 to 2008. Disney created it so adults could have nighttime entertainment without leaving the resort and they even celebrated "New Year's Eve" every night. It must have been super fun! It makes me so mad to learn about experiences like this when they no longer exist.

Another extra fact is that it shares its name with the island in Pinocchio where children could do whatever they wanted (smoke, break things, total chaos) and end up turned into donkeys. I remember that scene, it creeped me out, and I wanted to be a good girl just to avoid turning into a donkey. Clearly, the choice of name was not at all coincidental.

I have to tell you that if I had a list of ten favorite matchboxes, this one would definitely be included.
