Pleasure Island was the adult nightlife district within Disney World, featuring clubs, bars, and concerts, one of Disney's most atypical ideas. It was open from 1989 to 2008. Disney created it so that adults could have nighttime entertainment without leaving the resort and they even celebrated "New Year's Eve" every night. It must have been super fun! I get so frustrated to learn about experiences like this when they have already ceased to exist.

Another fun fact is that it shares its name with the island from Pinocchio where children could do whatever they wanted (smoke, break things, total chaos) and end up turning into donkeys. I remember that scene; it gave me a lot of bad vibes, and I wanted to be a good girl just to avoid turning into a donkey. Clearly, the choice of name was not at all casual.

I have to tell you that if I had a list of my ten favorite matchboxes, this one would definitely be included.
