City Crab opened its doors in 1993, on its two floors crab, lobster, and fresh oysters were served daily. For over twenty years it was a classic in the Union Square neighborhood, until it disappeared in 2015 and made way for another icon of New York gastronomy.

The box outlasted the restaurant. It's curious, I don't think there are many tangible things left from it and here is this little box, centimeters that contain a twenty-two-year history. If you're curious, I've included some photos of what the restaurant was like, which, considering it existed during the internet era, weren't that easy to find.
