About this matchbox

Although it does not indicate any specific city or place, this box brings together two of the most recognizable symbols of Scotland: the national thistle and the traditional clan tartan. Initially, I thought it might be a pattern belonging to an existing clan, but I believe in this case it is generic because if it were from a specific clan, it would be mentioned. I find this tartan topic very interesting, so I'm going to research more about it to keep you updated.

Manufactured by Bryant & May, it was probably sold as a generic tourist souvenir for visitors who wanted to take a small piece of Scotland in their pocket.
